The bake time for asparagus is just 10 minutes in a 400-degree oven. To make roasted asparagus, first, break off the woody ends of the stalks. If your pieces are particularly thick, you may also want to peel off the outer skin to keep them from being stringy. Then, toss the asparagus stalks in olive oil, salt, pepper, and your seasoning of choice and spread them out on a baking sheet. Bake them just until they’re tender. Be careful not to overbake them: Overcooking asparagus makes it soggy.
